This publication is a collection of items concerning Grafton and The Clarence River District, from various newspapers, including the Sydney Morning Herald, Maitland Mercury and the Clarence and Richmond Examiner, which were published in the stated year. The Sydney Herald, later The Sydney Morning Herald, was first published in 1831 but there are no references to the Clarence River District until well into the 1840's and these were few and far between. Throughout the 1850's more material appeared.
