Library and Archives

Heritage Path has an extensive library of material relating to local and family history in
Australia and Overseas. This collection of over 5,000 books & maps; 300 microfilms and 10,000
microfiche, includes all the major research sources for all Australian States, and much of the NSW
State Records Genealogical kits. There is also a large collection of overseas material ,particularly
for England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany.


This Library and Archives is a private collection and is opened to researchers by
appointment only, and fees apply.

 

Special Collections

 

Newspaper Collection

Newspapers are a fantastic source for material for family history. The Heritage Path Library
has a large collection of 19th Century Australian newspapers, including good 'runs' of the
following;- Sydney Gazette; Sydney Times; The Colonist; Sydney Morning Herald; The
Australian; Sydney Monitor; Sydney Chronicle; Hunter River Gazette; Maitland Mercury;
Clarence and Richmond Examiner; Grafton Argus; The Grip; The Clarion and Clarence
Advocate. Overseas newspapers include the Maidstone Journal (Kent). There are selected in-house indexes for some of these newspapers as well a large collection of published indexes for other newspapers throughout Australia.

 

Local Studies Collection

Did your ancestors come from the Clarence River District? If so, we can probably help you.
We have spent more than thirty-five years collecting all manner of local and family history material
pertaining to this area, (including Richmond and Tweed River Districts prior to 1870). Material
available for research includes Local and Family History Books, Cemetery Transcriptions,
Transcriptions of some Church Registers, Undertakers Records, County ,Parish and Topographical
Maps,Land records,Newspapers clippings.
South East England Collection
The Library has a very large collection of Parish Registers,Cemetery Transcriptions, Local
History books, Maps, Newspapers, and Archive Catalogues for County Kent, Sussex and London.
There are also many rare books including a set of Archaeologia Cantiana -1858 to 1994 with
Indexes.[114 volumes]
